Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
Limited Box Set
Just as many fans consider Arrevederci Yamato to be the "greatest" in its category (despite it's age), here comes the absolute pinnacle of the Gundam universe, Zeta Gundam.

Ikki Tousen Volume 1
Hakufu Sonsaku has a killer bod. Literally. But, don't let this buxom blonde's ditzy nature fool you. She's a fighter, not a lover. She just transferred to a school where there's a war going on. The town of Kanto has been locked in bloody, hand-to-hand conflict for generations.
 The combatants are designated by the strange jewels they wear. These jewels purport to carry the souls and skills of fighters past and Hakufu has a jewel just like theirs. Could she be the descendent of a legendary unbeatable warrior?
Action, cleavage and panty shots abound in a cartoon series based on a manga by Yuji Shiozaki (which is availble in America from TokyoPop as Battle Vixens). Bones break and bosums heave in the rollicking fanservice-style of Agent Aika. Fight on Hakufu!
ShootFighter Tekken : Round 1
Although the title sounds like three different videogames bashed together, this very entertaining martial arts series pits the murderous underground art of Nanshin Shadow Style against the world of Pro-Wrestling. Protagonist Kiichi and his no-nonsense, hyper-deadly father are challenged to fight a wrestler hell-bent on a grudge match. Ultimately, our hero must seek further training from the man who trained the assassin he must face down in the ring!
We particularly enjoyed the chemistry between the father and son duo, they are so different, and yet, there's a strong bond between them. As can be expected these days from any OVA series, the animation is excellent, and the dub is enjoyable.
Ichi The Killer : Episode Zero
Underpinned with glorious blood-splattered battles and sadistic sexual debauchery, this animated prequel to the infamous underground live-action thriller "Ichi The Killer" is much more shocking and violent. Fans will delight in the fact that Takashi Miike, the director of the live action "Ichi The Killer", provides the voice for the pivotal character of Kakihara.
Extras include 'Behind the Live-Action Movie Showcase' featuring a Takashi Miike interview; Outtakes and behind-the-scenes footage from the live-action 'Ichi The Killer' movie.
 Warning: Ichi The Killer: Episode Zero is suggested for viewers 16 and older. Contains scenes of graphic violence and occasional nudity that may not be suitable to those who find such content objectionable. Viewer discretion advised.
Destroy All Monsters
Ed Wood would have loved this movie. It's got everything the quintessential Godzilla/monster movie needs - a plot that defies logic, aliens, monsters, cheezy special effects, guys in rubber suits stomping on table-top models of cities, and much, much more. With non-stop action and a wonderful score to boot, it's a tour-de-force that just can't be topped.
 As kids, we watched this on channel 5 in NYC, it still shows up on the Sci-Fi channel from time to time. The big bonus with this release is the inclusion of a second disc -- an audio CD of Akira Ifikube's incredible soundtrack. At a mere thirteen bucks, this DVD is a steal at any price. This is just one of those movies you can never get tired of.

PokeMon FireRed Wireless
for Gameboy Advance
Wireless networking is all the rage for busy people on the go with their high-tech laptops. These days people surf the web on their own PC while sitting in Starbucks. But now imagine how cool it would be if your hand-held videogame had wireless networking, so you could link up with a friend and play head-to-head anywhere, anytime, or even while sitting in Starbucks.
 That's the uber-cool gimmick of Pokemon LeafGreen and Pokemon FireRed, which are, of course, pretty decent games by themselves (having been created by Nintendo), so even when you don't have someone to battle, you can spend countless hours training your Pokemon, and caring for them as if they were real living creatures. The wireless adapter is built into the game cartridge itself, so you don't have to buy anything extra, and will also work in your Gamecube system.

Princess Ai
Will she save the universe or destroy it? Even she doesn't know, she fell to Earth minus her memory. All she knows is that she's from somewhere else, and she dresses rather provocatively. She can also belt out song like nobody's business. (She winds up singing heavy metal at a high class strip club. Hey! A girl's gotta make ends meet somehow.) Meanwhile, forces from beyond are gathering against her. Princess Ai is a key figure in a cosmic "second revolution". A mystery she must unlock before things get too graphic.
 Controversial rocker Courtney Love produced this manga with TokyoPop. They ran TV commercials for it - this might be the first time a manga got air time like this on American television. It's a thrilling combination of romance, fantasy, action and heavy metal music. Rock on, Princess Ai!

Golden Cain
The "yaoi" line of manga has its origins in bishonen manga developed in the seventies with titles like Princess Prince and Song of Wind and Trees. Bishonen translates into "Beautiful Boys", who are very willowy and ethereal. Yaoi normally is manga created by women and pretty much has a female-only readership.
 The Be Beautiful line of translated manga opens up its first salvo with Golden Cain, a complete manga by You Asagiri. Cain is an enigmatic model, with killer looks. When he meets Young Shun, sparks fly. Shun is enchanted by Cain, but is he simply vulnerable to Cain's attentions because he is still trying to get over the passing of his brother? Can Shun remain stalwart or will he give in to the passions of the killer Cain? What will become of him when he discovers the secrets of his supposedly perfect brother? What will he do when he learns the secrets of his own heart?

Wolf's Rain
Yoko Kanno does it again! If you've been watching this incredible series on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, then you already know that it's from the team who brought you Cowboy Bebop, so, the coolness factor is guaranteed. But also returning to the team is composer Kanno, who delights us with yet another eclectic mix of sounds and orchestration, bringing her trademark sophistication and style.
Mixing a classical sound with Portuguese and Brazilian rhythms, along with Bebop recognizable-vocals, Kanno meshes together a blend of stuff that, in the hands of any less a composer, would have ended up as a mess -- but she masters it, brings it life, and we are the greater for it.
