Gundam Movie Box Set
Tomino's epic series has never been topped. Condensed and slightly updated versions of the TV series were created as three movies that cover the One-Year-War, and these movies helped the popularity of Gundam explode across Japan, creating a wave of merchandizing that has been Bandai's cash cow for the better part of two decades.
Experience these great films as the anime classics that they are. Hardcore Sci-Fi at it's best, no American space show has *ever* come close to literary SF epic as Gundam has. The shot of the L-5 colony smashing into Earth, is worth the price alone.
Hanaukyo Maid Team La Verite
The all-female staff of the mansion is dedicated to the care, well-being, and happiness of the affluent Hanaukyo family.
They're also armed to the teeth, ready to battle other affluent families like the Jihoh clan. Right now their charge is Taro Hanaukyo. He's a fourteen year old boy who didn't even know about all this until recently. He moved into the mansion only to fulfill his mother's last wish. He thought he was going to meet his grandfather there. So far, his grandfather hasn't shown up. Taro is a shy, self-effacing lad. He's not used to all this attention. He doesn't fully comprehend all the politics he's gotten himself into. And all these pretty girls are making him nervous.
Based on a popular manga, the show is zany fun and, like the Hanakuyo Maid Team itself, is eager to please. Strap yourself in for a bouncy ride.
Star Ocean EX - The Inception
The Sony Playstation RPG, Star Ocean The Second Story gets the anime treatment in this series. The setting is the far future where a starship alights on a strange planet to investigate a mysterious meteor. This meteor proves a bad trip for young crewman Claude Kenni. He is whisked off to a faraway world without so much as a security check.
Claude teams up with Rena Lanford to learn the secret behind the Sorcery Globe. Is it a rock of evil that will plunge the planet into peril? Action and adventure await our heroes as they encounter dragons, demon-birds, cursed ghost ships and a beautiful alien named Opera. This odyssey is a homer.
Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie 2 -
The Sealed Card
Those captivating Cardcaptors of TV and manga fame return in their second feature film! Sakura has been holding all the cards until now, but she might not be playing with a full deck anymore. She is shocked when her magical Clow Cards start vanishing in front of her. Large pieces of her hometown seem to be following suit.
Apparently there's a joker to deal with. One last card that Sakura needs in order to set things right. Capturing it will prove to be her most dangerous game. Sakura is going to sacrifice greatly in order to get it. Perhaps even more than she has ever dared. It's call or raise with the entire world's fate literally in the cards.

Nintendo DS
Nintendo's penchant for awesome interface design has never been better, essentially the coolest Palm Pilot ever with its color touch screen and clever dual-screen system. It pushes gaming to a whole new level, presenting action on the top screen and using the lower screen for stats, details, maps, alternate views and so forth. With the power of a Nintendo 64 in a hand held unit we were impressed with its ability to do real-time 3D.
The built-in wireless app PictoChat is worth the price alone! It is also backwards compatible with the Game Boy Advance, so your old GBA games will work (in the front slot). Native DS games, like Pokemon Dash use cartridges little larger than a postage stamp, but hold an astounding amount of data. In all, the DS is a shockingly powerful bit of hardware, especially when you consider that it's pretty cheap compared to other systems.

Adult Manga: Culture and Power in Contemporary Japanese Society
Most Americans have absolutely NO IDEA how influential manga is on the social, political and economic fabric of modern Japanese society. This book examines an aspect of this culture -- the commercial industry of mass-communication via the cartoon, how manga is produced, and how the industry churns out product, often to the detriment of creativity.
For those fascinated by how the manga publishing business works, this book is an inside-out look at one of the driving forces of contemporary Japanese culture.
The Image Factory: Fads and Fashions in Japan
Just as a person contrives a style, the purpose of which is integration and the effect of which is presentation, so a nation collectively projects an appearance, a national style.
Japan has a history of chasing fads and fashion. Since the 19th century, foreign products have been welcomed in, from the cult for squeaky shoes in the mid-19th century to the current fad for virtual reality girlfriends. The Image Factory is both an investigation into fads, fashions and style such as US Army surplus uniforms, pachinko, mutating hair colors and an appreciation of their inherent meanings. The Japanese have seized upon fads and fashion as an arm of enterprise to a much greater extent than elsewhere in the world.

Noir Original Soundtrack
Yuki Kajiura's unique mix of percussion and violin brings considerable melancholy soul of this wonderful soundtrack to the stylish anime series of the same name. We call this good "rainy day music" as you stare out the window at people carrying umbrellas.
Like a good meal, the music leaves you satisfied, fulfilled, and yet, wanting just a bit more. Fortunately, all 18 tracks do not disappoint, there's always a new twist around each corner. Infused with chants and vocals, some dark and somber notes, Noir holds true to its name, and this inspired soundtrack is rife with the influence.
