It's the ultimate marriage of boy, girl and robot. Literally.
Just as Dannar pilot Goh is about to march down the aisle, he's summoned into battle, but he's not going alone! His wife Anna joins the fight, and if they can mate their robots' interlocking parts, they'll form Godanner! What a totally wacky honeymoon this turns out to be!
Godannar puts a brand-new spin on the tried and true giant robot formula to create something that feels fresh and exciting. And trust us, no expense was spared to make this series absolutely rock — it looks fabulous and the animation is smooth and colorfully designed, with marvelous background art to match. Read More... Quickly becoming the most powerful force in anime today since the retirement of Miyazaki, Satoshi Kon has essentially created a whole new genre of anime — the psychological thriller. And like famed director Alfred Hitchcock, Satoshi Kon leads us through the tangled maze with both sophistication and confidence, challenging us to think, knowing that we may never understand it all, but he's going to throw it at us and see if we can "get it".
Paprika is a mind-blowing, pulse pounding extravaganza of wildly imaginative dream-state imagery that deserves every accolade heaped upon it. Read More...
The war is over. And now the real challenge of rebuilding a devastated empire begins. Famine, pestilence, greed, crime and unemployment are rampant. Enter Lieutenant Alice Malvin — a new kind of hero for anime. Charged with the command of the Imperial Army's Intelligence Section 3, code-named "Pumpkin Scissors", Alice is a hot-headed idealist who is totally devoted to her job - exposing the corrupt power-mad nobility who prey on the weak (which manages to put her at odds with her own family). But as Alice starts to peel away the layers of a massive government cover-up involving a defunct super-soldier program, she discovers the existence of military technology decades ahead of what the Army has. And, one of these super-soldiers, who can destroy tanks with only a handgun, is a member of her team! (But this is a good thing.) Read More...

Try and imagine a plot outline by Miyazaki, animation by Gainax, and a series chock full of in-jokes, anime references, an immersive story set in the "steampunk" era of late 1800's Europe, with a mixture of comedy, romance, mystery and drama. It is a true classic of anime; you'd be hard-pressed to find a fanboy who has not heard of this series. The Cute Book
Japanese Crafts Book Review by Carolyn Whu
Are you one of those handy people? Whatever your hands make, it always comes out beautifully perfect? Then you suck and should stop reading this review because this book is not for perfect people like you.
This book is for people like me, who can't boil water without burning it. (Yes, it is possible.) I've tried knitting and my scarves always end up lopsided. (Yep, lopsided is do-able on a scarf somehow.) I've tried cross-stitching and, I don't know how, my Garfield ended up with three eyes. I've tried drawing/sketching and my teachers have given up on even getting s straight line out of me. (Don't ask.) Suffice it to say: my hands don't listen very well to what I would like it to do. If you thought the anime series was good, try the manga. With a much more fleshed-out storyline and really no time limit regarding a story-arc, the manga goes places the anime series never could. (The anime series ends at volume 8 in the manga, while the entire manga series runs 23 volumes!) Read More...
Rain, a Korean supermodel, has sprung into the worldwide spotlight as an excellent and entertaining R&B singer. Time Magazine voted him number 1 of the most influential people in the world for 2007, which prompted an angry rebuttal by Stephen Colbert (who then proceeded to perform his own Korean Music Video, with spectacularly hilarious results).
