Vampire Knight
Vampire Knight
Anime Review by Carolyn Whu

Vampire KnightIs there no end to my supply of crack? I thought I was well on my road to recovery; I've been clean for a week more or less and I've had enough willpower to keep myself away from all the usual dangerous spots... Lo and behold, sometimes it is the most innocent place that you won't ever suspect of being your downfall. It's like feeling the shakes coming on, fighting it so hard, only to find out your squeaky clean sweet little old lady across the hall is the neighborhood dealer. Oh, the humanity! I finally caught up on my sleep, the bags under my eyes have disappeared, my eyes are no longer bloodshot, and my ìshakesî from reading Bloody Kiss has finally subsided. My thoughts are no longer turning to re-reading the Twilight series. One click, that's all it took and I'm back to sniffing my glue, puffing my roach, and shooting my heroin: Vampire Knight. Durarara!!
Durarara!!
Anime Review by John Martone

Durarara!!Durarara, besides being fun to say, is a pretty spectacular series. Based off of a light novel by Ryohgo Narita, series takes us into the lives of Ikebukuro, Japan. Marked by its high style and extremely large cast, the effect is to see an entirely ecosystem of he city, not just a sect within it. With a cast of around 16 protagonists, we thought the whole thing would end up just chaotic, but strong direction ties it all together beautifully. Read More...

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
Anime Review by John Mortone

Haruhi SuzumiyaHaruhi Suzumiya is the strangest normal girl you've ever met. Despite being an average, headstrong girl, she's also an entity whose imagination dictates the very shape of our universe. She believes in time travelers, aliens, and psychics, thus they exist. The mainstay of the series is here, with the challenge of keeping Haruhi entertained enough that she doesn't subconsciously change everything, yet in the dark about it all.

But what if that wasn't the case? The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, a movie based on the 4th novel, asks a very different question. Opening in the final days of the winter term, the students are dealing with the excessive cold, all the while preparing for Christmas. The next morning, Kyon, our male protagonist, wakes up in a world sans Haruhi Suzumiya. Read More...

Monster
Monster
Anime Review by Brian Cirulnick

MonsterMonster has been running on the Sci-Fi (SyFy) channel for some time now, but somehow I'd always seemed to miss it. That was my error, and now I'm working to correct it. While it's a bit talky and sometimes slow-moving, this is a deep, big, long, drama/suspense thriller that has amassed an enormous cast of characters and, kind of like the recently ended cult-TV series LOST, once you're drawn into the characters and the world around them, you're not going to let up as there's a lot of pieces of the puzzle to put together.

GoGo Gear Cosplay Cat Ears

GoGo Gear Cosplay Cat Ears Just as nature should have intended. Seriously, is there anyone who doesn't look better in cat ears? Ladies, trust me, cat ears are the ultimate turn-on. Guys will be following you and salivating. And you'll look so cute! You'll be the envy of every other gal on campus.

And they don't just seem to be for cosplay anymore, now they are just normal fashion accessories! A few days ago I was passing through a town in NJ on my motorcycle and two girls were walking by me wearing cat-ears! I guess it's a summertime thing.

Bloody Kiss
Bloody Kiss
Manga Review
by Carolyn Whu

Bloody KissVampires are back in! Not that they've been that far out in the last few years thanks to the books and movies of Twilight. How many poor people have been dragged into that screaming teenage girl lust-fest for Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner? Ok, I don't care much for the movies. Come on, girls! Read the books! Use them imaginations! Edward Cullen and Jacob Black are so much sexier, hotter and Bella, schmella? I'm Bella in my mind and them boys can take their turns being oh so yummy for ME.
