Anime Review

Two words: smooth and sexy. Don't be stupid and dismiss this anime like I did at the beginning. It doesn't scream, "Wow, wow, look at me!" but it definitely does a soft growl of, "Hey, you got a minute?" and then grabs you by the balls. After that, you are at its mercy.

xg@At first, you might be put off by its not-so-spectacular visuals and corny dialogue... hell, I was. And then, Blue walks in. Actually, she drives in, roaring and kicking ass. First, she tries to run over a guy; thank god he's dead already. After that, she's got to meet up with the corny dialogue guys from the beginning. Before she can talk to them though, she's got to rescue their sorry butts from hitmen that like to dress up like the reptilian aliens from "V". Since they are being controlled by a Sharon Stone on vacation in Cannes look-alike, it means that Blue's got to kick her ass, too. Blue's three guns (wouldn't you like to know how she can hold three guns?) vs. the bad guys' stash of guns... who do you think has enough bullets to win?

u[ Blue All this mayhem because Blue wants some info from the corny dialogue guys, Bill and Robert... Some wise guys they turned out to be. They didn't even know that they are getting hit because of a Sinatra tape. "Old Blue Eyes" was a god but someone erased his songs and replaced them with evidence. Sure, Bill and Robert sound corny but they are endearing to listen to. Brings a small smile to everyone to hear 70's exploitation language again after all. It's hard to find language so "distinct" nowadays when everyone is so politically correct. If this doesn't pique your interest, just wonder how a Japanese anime with 100% English dialogue and Japanese subtitles sound like. I almost felt like I was cheating by listening to it in English instead of reading the English subs and listening to the Japanese.

r@Ok, you don't care about the dialogue. How about music? There are very few soundtracks that I think actually add to the anime. This is one of the few that the music almost has a personality of its own. It knows when it is needed to accent a particular scene and when it should meld with the background and just accompany the scene. The music also has a sweet texture to it that really accentuates the characters and the situation that they are in. For example, Blue's shootout with the reptilian hitmen in a disco club? Not only was the song reminiscent of 70's disco music but it had the energy, sense of fun, and purring sexiness of Blue in it, too. There is absolutely no other song that you want to see Blue swingin' her hips and jivin' and killin' hitmen to.

Did I forget mention anything? Oh... yeah, Blue is a sexy, sassy girl that just so happens to be part cat, too. If none of this has made you interested yet, you should just check it out for the catgirl vs. catgirl fight scene. Oops, failed to mention that the Sharon Stone look-alike was a catgirl too, huh?
