I've seen all 50 episodes and without a doubt this is one of the best shows I've watched in the last 10 years. It's just pouring over with so much creativity and heart and soul, I have to believe it was created by people who truly adore anime and wanted to write a love letter to the medium. Design, production, acting, music, writing, pacing, plot twists...it's all there and it's all top notch. It passes what I consider to be the ultimate test — each episode ends much earlier than I want them to.
As usual, I watched two episodes per day (over lunch) and in most cases two episodes per day of anything is about all I need... but with this one I had to force myself to punch the stop button and pry myself out of the chair. Read More...

There are days when all you want is blood, gore, and mayhem. The hot chicks parading around don't hurt either. Throw in some undead, demons, and magic and you can spend days inside your house, avoiding the sun. It doesn't matter that you come out looking like one of the undead yourself afterwards, right?
The manga has been out since 2005 but the anime recently came out in Japan. Our heroine, Makina Hoshimura, died before the show even starts. Technically, she died again and just like the first time, she is resurrected as one of the undead, shikabane.

Take Starship Troopers, mix in The Forever War, add some Legend of the Galactic Heroes, sprinkle in some Gunbuster, and top off with gobs and gobs of Blue Gender, and you've got yourself ... well,... something. STR.A.IN. (STRategic Armored INfantry) is so evocative of other anime, I was pretty sure I'd already watched this series... but no, here come the plot twists... Aha, something new and unexpected. Yow. Never seen that before....
It's a 13-episode series that is shockingly cold and very brutal, just like the war the characters are in. Two opposing forces are in an expansionist phase across the galaxy and this has lead to a war that has been going on for over 600 years. You may need some Cliff-Notes or some kind of cheat-sheet to keep up with the pace that the plotline is hurled at you. Read More...
Currently a top-rated show on Cartoon Network in the U.S., the story of Blue Dragon centers on a young boy named Shu and several of his friends who possess the ability to control phantom shadows that mirror the actions of their masters. The series is directed by Hironobu Sakaguchi, with character designs by Akira Toriyama, and a soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu, so you know there's a winning team behind it! Read More...
Sexy, sexy, sexy! Hot, hot, hot! For once I'm not talking sexy for the boys out there. This is for the ladies and the other "ladies" out there. It's a nice change of pace from all the panty shots and huge boobies that are for the boys. Here comes our delectable six pack shots and nice tight ends that you can bounce all your loose change off of all night long.
Sure, Vassalord sounds a little cheesy in the summary. I mean, c'mon, cyborg vampire priest and a playboy vampire? But hold on, aren't you a little curious about how a guy can be part machine, part vampire, AND a priest? Usually "vampire" and "priest" are used to describe two characters that are trying to kill each other and not one single guy. Read More...
Never mind that it's about Samurai Champloo, one of the best all-around and most popular anime of the decade and never mind that it's ridiculously cheap at less than $15, and guaranteed to go up in value. Just get this, repeat GET THIS!!!!!, because it is a roman album. If you don't know what a roman album is... shame on you. Read More...
Ever since Jim Butcher first pressed those fateful buttons on his word processor, wizard/private eye Harry Dresden has had many adventures in many a novel. His success caught the interest of the Sci-Fi channel, and a series was commissioned. His television battles with the supernatural, however, didn't prove too popular. The show fizzled out after a season. Read More...
